Costello was 5th (20:24.1) in the women’s 6,000m white race, leading her Tigers to tie the #3 ranked FSU Seminoles for 1st at the pre-national meet three weeks ago. In the Eyes of this Tiger, their biggest goal for the season is to hold on to or exceed their well-earned high national ranking: 4th. “Last year we were ranked #4, and then we fell to 14th after the National meet. After nationals, nobody cares what you were ranked…they care about how you actually did. I want our team to perform the way I know we can.”
Two-time dominator of the Ivy League Conference Crown, junior Liz Costello recently ran the fastest time in championship history (16:59.9) on the course—a course also often used for the Footlocker Finals: Van Cortland Park—forcing the widest winning margin in event history, the next runner being a whopping 34.9 seconds behind her!
