Complete Ivy League Women's Basketball Weekly Release

PRINCETON, N.J. -- Princeton and Yale go head-to-head Friday night in Jadwin Gymnasium in a key match-up that highlights with weekend's Ivy action.

The Tigers have moved back into first place in the Ivy standings following two wins last weekend. They enter this week at 6-1 in Ivy play, but are followed closing by Yale, which sits just one half-game back at 6-2. The teams met just three weeks ago in New Haven, Conn., with Princeton claiming a 52-37 win over the Bulldogs.

Elsewhere Friday night, Cornell visits Harvard, Columbia is at Dartmouth and Brown is at Penn. On Saturday, thetravel partners trade opponents, sending Columbia to harvard, Cornell to Dartmouth, Yale to Penn and Brown to Princeton. The home teams hold an advantage in six of the eight all-time series, with the Bear's 34-33 edge over the Quakers and the Bulldogs' similar 34-33 lead on the Quakers representing the two match-ups to buck that trend.

While on-court results are key for all eight squads in the month of February, this month also represents the time when women's basketball teams across the country participate in the WBCA's Pink Zone initiative, helping to raise breast cancer awareness on the court, across campuses, in communities and beyond.

Columbia was the first Ivy school to host its 2011 Pink Zone game, doing so on Feb. 5 against Yale. Last Saturday Brown, Penn and Yale also participated in the initiative. This weekend, Dartmouth, Harvard and Princeton will host their annual Pink Zone games. Click on each school's name for more information about their events.
