PRINCETON, N.J. -- Fifty-four male Ivy League athletes will compete in 17 events in the East region of the 2011 NCAA Division I Men's Outdoor Track and Field Preliminary Championship Competition on May 26-28, hosted by Indiana University in Bloomington, Ind.

The top 12 finishers in each event, along with the top 12 finishers from the West region competition, will advance to the NCAA Championships, held June 8-11 in Des Moines, Iowa.

Seven double-qualifiers will represent the Ivy League, including the Princeton quintet of Austin Holimon (400m, 4x400m), Tom Hopkins (400m, 4x400m), Mike Eddy (400m, 4x400m), Russell Dinkins (800m, 4x400m) and Donn Cabral (3,000m steeplechase, 5,000m). Cornell's Steven Bell qualified in both the long jump and triple jump while Columbia's Brendan Martin will race in both the 5,000m and 10,000m runs.

Fifteen Ivies enter competition ranked in the top 12 of their respective events, including three No. 2 positions. Freshman Maalik Reynolds of Penn, the 2011 Ivy League Indoor and Outdoor high jump champion enters the NCAA postseason with the second best mark in the country -- 2.28m. He trails only Mississippi's Ricky Roberts who achieved a season-best mark of 2.29m.

Defending javelin national champion Craig Kinsley of Brown is seeded second with a season-best mark of 76.33, trailing only Western Kentucky's Ignacio Guerra (78.69m). Princeton's Donn Cabral enters as the No. 2 seed in the 3,000m steeplechase with a seed time of 8:41.93, just behind Temple's Travis Mahoney (8:37.23).

The remaining top-12 seeded individuals include Penn's Darryll Oliver in the 800m (No. 8), Columbia's Mark Feigen in the 1,500m (No. 6), Yale's John Van Deventer in the 1,500m (No. 7), Cornell's Adrien Dannemiller in the 3,00m steeplechase (No. 4), Princeton's Mark Amirault in the 5,000m (No. 4), Harvard's Dan Chenoweth in the 5,000m (No. 5), Princeton's Donn Cabral in the 5,000m (No. 6), Cornell's Nate Edelman in the 10,000m (No. 7), Dartmouth's Ethan Shaw in the 10,000m (No. 11), Princeton's David Slovenski in the pole vault (No. 6), Princeton's Craig Pearce in the hammer throw (No. 7) and the Princeton 4x400m relay team (No. 12).
