PLAYER OF THE WEEK
In a snowy mess in Hamilton, N.Y., senior goaltender Michael Novosel stopped 15 shots, which was one off of his career-high in a 7-3 win over Colgate on Saturday. He faced 33 shots with 18 on goal in the win and has a .833 save percentage, which leads the nation currently. He came up with 10 saves alone in the second half to help Dartmouth jump out to a 7-1 lead. Colgate fired 15 shots to only one by the Big Green in the final quarter. He also grabbed one ground ball.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Princeton freshman midfielder Jeff Froccaro (Sands Point, N.Y.) recorded a hat trick in his first college appearance, netting three huge goals on three shots in the Tiger's 17-14 win over No. 11 Hofstra. All three goals came in the decisive second half, with two coming in the fourth quarter - both after Hofstra cut Princeton's lead to one goal. Froccaro also won 6 of 18 face-offs.

THE HONOR ROLL

Cornell sophomore attack Rob Pannell (So., A, Smithtown, N.Y.) helped the Big Red get off to a 1-0 start on the season with a 10-7 victory over in-state rival Hobart on Sunday night. Pannell registered a game-high five points on two goals and three assists. All of his points in the game came during a critical 6-2 scoring run that blew the game open for the Big Red, as he had a hand in five of the six goals.

Dartmouth senior captain Ari Sussman got the 2010 season off to a good start for the Big Green with five points on two goals and three assists in a 7-3 win over Colgate. He scored the first goal of the season and ended up with the eventual game-winner in the second half. He assisted on three goals, all coming from rookie players, and one during a man-up situation. Sussman posted three points alone in the third quarter when Dartmouth opened up the scoring and took a 6-1 lead into the final frame.

In No. 12 Harvard's season-opening victory against Canisius, Harvard junior attackman Dean Gibbons tied a career-high with five goals on only six shots. Gibbons netted three goals in the second quarter alone, with all five of his scores coming even-strength. Gibbons helped Harvard jump out to a 9-3 lead at halftime, improving to 1-0 on the season.

Penn sophomore midfielder Dan Savage (Garden City, N.Y.) had two goals and two assists in the Quaker's16-11 loss at No. 8 Duke on Saturday.

Princeton junior attackman Chris McBride (Ridgewood, N.J.) started his season with a bang, tying a career-high with four goals in the Tiger's tough 17-14 win over No. 11 Hofstra. McBride's goals came on just six shots and included the tying goal in the third quarter after Hofstra had taken its only lead at 10-9 on a 3-0 run to start second half.

Yale sophomore attack Matt Gibson (Point Lookout, N.Y.) opened his 2010 campaign with a hat trick, scoring four goals with two assists for six points in the Bulldog's 14-7 win over Holy Cross.
