Prchal, Princeton Lead After Second Round of Men's Golf Championship

BETHLEHEM, Pa. -- Scores were low during the second round of the 2015 Ivy League Men's Golf Championship, but none were lower than what Princeton sophomore Quinn Prchal had on his card.

Prchal paced the Tigers with a championship-low four-under 68. The senior birdied three of his last four to surge to the top of the leader board. Princeton shot a 293 as a squad, keeping them in first at 594. Freshman Michael Davis is currently tied for third with a two-day score of 148.

Penn made moves on day two, carding a day-low 291 to put the Quakers’ total at 598, four back of Princeton. Senior Austin Powell continued his strong play, shooting a two-over 74 and now sits three back of the individual championship. Senior Ben Cooley rebounded from an 80 on day one with a two-under 70, tying him for seventh overall.     

Columbia came in under 300 as well, and sit in third after carding a team 298. Sophomore Mert Selamet improved by six strokes from round one, and finished with a one-under 71. Selamet used four birdies in his front nine to help him to finish the day tied for third overall. 

Harvard will be the fourth team in the final group, after improving by 18 strokes from day one and ending round two with a 295. Sophomore Robert Deng also recorded a 71 today and is tied for third with a two-day score of 148. 

Yale, Dartmouth, Cornell and Brown round out the leader board and will be in the first groupings on day three. 

Teams tee off at 8:20 am Sunday morning and will start from the 10th tee.
