GALLOWAY, N.J. -- Saturday's second round of the 2011 Ivy League men's Golf Championship was played under wet and windy conditions at the Galloway National Golf Club. Penn entered the day two strokes back of Yale, but was able to complete a three-stroke swing to take a one-shot lead over the Bulldogs heading into Sunday's final round.

Columbia made the biggest jump on day two, as it started the day in sixth but finished in a tie for third with Princeton (+58/626). The Lions shot a 307, the lowest team round of the day. Princeton and Columbia enter the final day just six strokes adrift of Yale, helping to create what is shaping up to be a dramatic championship Sunday.

On a difficult day for scoring, Dartmouth's Peter Williamson shot a second round 78 but remains in first place on the individual leader board. Penn's Scott Williams, who is looking to repeat as the Ivy League Champion, moved into second place with a second round 74. At six-over par, Williams is one shot behind Williamson, who is five–over par after two days of play. Williams' second round 74 was the best round of the day. If either Williamson or Williams turns in a win tomorrow, he would become the just the fifth golfer to turn in two medalist winning performances at the Ivy Championship, as Williamson finished first in 2009.

Columbia's Brendan Doyle shot a 75 to remain in third. He had three birdies on the day as well as seven bogeys. Also overcoming the elements and shooting second-day 75 was Harvard's Mark Pollak, who moved from 16th to a tie for sixth with the four-over par showing.

The race for medalist honors could be just as dramatic as the one for the team title as just seven strokes separate the top-11 players on the leader board.

The 2011 Championship concludes on Easter Sunday, starting at 7:30 a.m.
