PRINCETON, N.J. -- Winners of 19 in a row, the Princeton men's basketball team earned a No. 12 seed in the West Regional of the NCAA Tournament and will head to Buffalo, N.Y. to face fifth-seeded Notre Dame.
The game will take place Thursday at Buffalo's KeyBank Center at 12:15 p.m. ET and will air on CBS. Verne Lundquist, Jim Spanarkel and Allie LaForce will be on the call.
It's Princeton's 25th NCAA Tournament and first since 2011 as the Tigers went 14-0 during the Ivy League regular season and swept through the two-round inaugural Ivy League Tournament, beating Yale 71-59 in Sunday's final.
Princeton has faced Notre Dame three times, twice in South Bend and once, the last meeting, in Princeton. That last game saw Princeton upset the No. 2-ranked Irish 76-62 on Jan. 3, 1977 in Jadwin Gym. The other two meetings were a 35-22 Irish win in South Bend on Dec. 31, 1927 and an 80-66 loss to the 13th-ranked Irish on Dec. 7, 1974.
