to play college sports at such a competitive level. I have learned
so much from playing college sports and have had a great
experience, and I am so thankful that Title IX helped to make that
possible.
What effects will Title IX have for the younger
generation?
Salisbury: More and more opportunities keep
developing for women in sports, and so for the younger generation,

sports being an abnormality to it being encouraged and
supported.
Who was an influential woman in athletics to you and
why?
Salisbury: My Mom. She always valued athletics,
and she was the one who introduced me to the sport of lacrosse and
helped start and coach my first lacrosse team.
